Abstract

In recent years, the value of the arts in promoting the physical, mental and social well-being of the individual has been increasing scientific evidence and social relevance. The theme is part of cultural welfare, which is based on the recognition by OMS of some specific cultural activities for promoting the health of the individual, understood in its physical, mental, social and spiritual aspects. Modern cognitive neuroscience shows us how the aesthetic experience and the enjoyment of beauty contribute to the well-being and health of the person. The contribution focus on the modification of therapeutic spaces through artistic interventions, with particular attention to the figurative arts, which affect not only the perceptive and emotional aspects, but also the architectural redevelopment and semantic redefinition of spaces, as well as the aesthetic quality of places of care. The aim is to change, through the redevelopment of physical places, mindscapes of people who live in healthcare spaces.
