Abstract

Il convegno “Convenzione di Faro e obiettivi di sviluppo sostenibili: destini incro- ciati”, svoltosi a Ravello nel giugno 2022, ha esaminato il ruolo delle biblioteche nel contesto storico sociale attuale, evidenziando come la pandemia abbia acuito fragilità sociali e culturali, soprattutto per le categorie più vulnerabili. Negli ultimi anni, le biblioteche hanno cominciato a sviluppare sempre più servizi inclusivi, ma non in modo sistemico nei territori. Anche per questo, nel 2022, l’AIB ha istituito un Gruppo di studio sull’inclusione per mappare quanto viene promosso dalle biblioteche, coor- dinare iniziative, promuovere buone pratiche e garantire a tutti pari accesso alla lettura e alla cultura. Dopo una prima riflessione di carattere generale sul rapporto tra biblioteche e inclu- sione, il contributo propone una lettura dei dati sul tema messi a disposizione dal Cen- simento sulle biblioteche pubbliche e private di Istat. Segue un’analisi delle diverse sfumature che sono state date al concetto di inclusione in biblioteca nel triennio 2020- 2023 all’interno di convegni, corsi di formazione e letteratura professionale. In chiu- sura, viene offerto un focus sul ruolo che le biblioteche possono avere per una delle categorie di cittadini che possono particolarmente beneficiare di progetti inclusivi in biblioteca: gli anziani.
