The concept of Cultural heritage requires ongoing examination and increasingly interdisciplinary definition in order to refine its preservation and enhancement actions. The aim here is to propose a dynamic, operationally oriented definition of Cultural heritage, starting from the 2008 ICOMOS Quebec Declaration, reviewing relational theories, and integrating them with the instances of the atmospheric approach. Cultural heritage, when inquired through a relational lens, is characterized as three-dimensional, acquiring a third, tensive and dialogic dimension in-between the material and non-material heritage. This opens up opportunities for weaving interdisciplinary relationships and the possibility of new compelling narratives grounded in the experiential sphere of the lived present.
