Fisiopatologia da reestenose pós-angioplastia

Abstract

O tratamento percutâneo da aterosclerose tornou-se um método muito atrativo devido ao seu perfil de segurança, eficácia e curto tempo de internação hospitalar. No entanto, a reestenose pós-angioplastia pode cursar com síndromes clínicas isquêmicas levando a novas hospitalizações, reintervenções e aumento de custo. A compreensão da fisiopatologia da reestenose é fundamental para o desenvolvimento contínuo dos stents objetivando melhores resultados clínicos a curto e longo prazo. Neste capítulo, abordaremos a fisiopatologia da reestenose pós-angioplastia com foco em artérias coronárias com uma abordagem contemporânea dos stents farmacológicos. Entretanto, outros territórios arteriais também serão abordados.
