Abstract

Il contributo propone una riflessione sul rapporto tra forma urbana e mobilità sostenibile. La recente diffusione della ciclabilità urbana porta con sé la realizzazione di importanti interventi: bike lane e piste transitorie, ma anche ponti, sovrappassi e sottopassi. Opere utili non solo a ripensare le modalità con cui i cittadini si spostano, ma anche a orientare i processi di trasformazione di ampie porzioni di città. Il progetto del GRAB (Grande Raccordo Anulare delle Biciclette), proposto nel 2015 e inserito nel PUMS di Roma Capitale, è un anello ciclopedonale di circa 50 km che corre ai margini della città consolidata, in posizione intermedia tra le Mura Aureliane e il Raccordo. La sua funzione è quella di collegare le ciclabili lungo le vie consolari e mettere in rete le molte progettualità mature espresse dai territori. Il GRAB è ora al centro di una ricerca in corso di svolgimento nel Dipartimento di Architettura e Progetto, coordinata da Alessandra Capuano e nella quale è incardinata la posizione RTDA di chi scrive. Il GRAB è investigato non solo nella sua dimensione fisica di infrastruttura, ma anche come artificio narrativo che permette di rileggere (e dunque riprogettare) la forma urbana di Roma, attraverso un’inedita esplorazione tangenziale della città. La ricerca confluirà in una mostra che – incrociando i linguaggi dell’architettura, dell’arte e dell’ecologia – intende presentare la visione di una Roma pronta ad accogliere le sfide poste dal nostro tempo.
