Abstract

Scheda sul Tondo Doni, il dipinto su tavola più importante di Michelangelo, commissionato da Agnolo Doni, mercante fiorentino, forse in occasione del suo matrimonio con Maddalena Strozzi. Il quadro, raffigurante la Sacra Famiglia con ignudi sullo sfondo, presenta i caratteri tipici dello stile di Michelangelo (monumentalità, colori cangianti, corpi possenti e dalle pose complesse) che si ritroveranno pochi anni dopo negli affreschi sulla volta della Cappella Sistina e che saranno alla base del Manierismo.
