Problem-Based Learning: una chiave per le competenze trasversali

Abstract

Dalla fine del XX secolo il costrutto di competenza è divenuto centrale nella ridefinizione degli obiettivi formativi dei sistemi scolastici (Rychen & Salganik, 2001; EU-Lex, 2006; 2018; MIUR, 2010). Viste le criticità evidenziate da recenti rapporti nazionali e internazionali (INVALSI, 2021; OECD, 2017; 2019), appare però necessaria un’attenta revisione dell’approccio formativo per competenze. Il saggio esplora, attraverso una riflessione critica sulla letteratura, il concetto di didattica per competenze, con un focus sul Problem-Based Learning (Lotti, 2018), visto come approccio alle Soft Skills nella scuola secondaria di II grado (Leary et al., 2019); ma anche come strumento riflessivo per ridefinire la valutazione. La riduzione della distanza tra sapere scolastico e sapere reale può favorire pratiche educative più efficaci e condivise, sia per gli insegnanti, sia per gli studenti (Castoldi, 2021).
