Radici culturali e retroterra storico del Movimento 5 Stelle

Abstract

The cultural roots and the historical background of the Five Star Movement should be investigated and reconstructed inside a multiple level of analyses. We need medium and long term interpretative keys to understand the birth of a movement which is unique both in the Italian context and in the wider European and international framework. Its ideology in fact is built on the syncretism of different antinomies: the Right and the Left, modernity and anti-modernity, tradition and innovation, utopia and apocalyptic dystopia. The Five Star Movement therefore is characterized as a political actor in constant definition of itself. It’s identity is today still changing. Despite these numerous contradictions, however it is possible to identify inside the movement the influence of the main political culture of the twentieth century.
