Costruire il patrimonio culturale

Abstract

All’alba di questo nuovo millennio, il patrimonio sembra essere ovunque e tutto, potenzialmente, sembra poterlo diventare. Ma che cos’è il patrimonio oggi, e chi lo costruisce? Quali ambizioni, quali storie e quali valori veicola? Il volume risponde a queste domande uscendo dal paradigma stretto delle definizioni, per vederlo non come un oggetto, ma come una serie di eventi plurali, un insieme di azioni sociali, disegnando una galleria di forme di creatività locale che fa risaltare assetti e conflitti, tanto più interessanti quanto più i casi presentati sono inusuali, a volte imprevisti. Dalla Puglia di Federico II e di Alberobello, da piazza Navona alla casa di Giulietta, dall’alluvione di Firenze al Vittoriale di D’annunzio, fino ai diari di Pieve Santo Stefano, il libro propone un campionario dei processi di costruzione di valori culturali patrimoniali attraverso la narrazione di sette insolite storie su altrettanti luoghi che in Italia hanno costruito, conservato o inventato un patrimonio.
