Le français parlé en Afrique est en pleine expansion. Il a un statut de langue officielle dans tous les pays africains qui ont été colonisés par un pays européen francophone. Pourtant, loin d’être homogène, il se différencie selon les pays et les communautés de locuteurs, dans sa morphosyntaxe et surtout sa prononciation, au point qu’on ne peut parler d’un seul « français d’Afrique ».
