Las intervenciones de restauración de las obras de arquitectura moderna han entrado de lleno en la más amplia doctrina de la conservación. Para estas arquitecturas el tema dominante es y será aquel de conciliar las instancias de autenticidad, con aquellas obras de reparación, tal vez de sustitución, llevadas a cabo en nombre de la conservación. En la restauración del “mo-derno”, aun considerando las diferencias tecnológicas y las prestaciones del hormigón armado como material “innovador”, el debate actual sobre la restauración arquitectónica, no supone una diferencia doctrinal respecto a la restauración de la edificación histórica tradicional. Un documento de ICOMOS de 1991 afirmaba: “en la restauración arquitectónica, se prohíbe cualquier completamiento en estilo analógico; deben considerarse impropias las adiciones que alteran la autenticidad de lo construido”. Todavía se repite que la Restauración se fundamenta en el respeto a los sistemas materiales que constituyen la primera documentación real. Sobre la base de estas consideraciones debe prevalecer el concepto de la reintegración de la imagen, no en términos imitativos sino en el respeto a la estructura

The restoration of modern architecture have plently entered in the theory of conservation of monuments. For this kind of architecture the principal problem is to join authenticity with interventions for repairing, may be substituting, which takes part in order to conserve. Within restoration of modern architecture, although technological differences and the use of reinforced concrete as innovative material, does ́nt meens any doctrinal and methodical difference with the restoration of historic or traditional buildings. An ICOMOS document from 1991, about architectural restoration , affirms:“In restoration is forbidden to complete any building in analogic stile; and may be considered improper the additions which destroy the authenticity of the building”. Restoration is based in the respect of the matter, of the construction materials which are the first real document. Based on these reasons of reintegration of image, and not in imitation.
