Essere bambini nel Vicino Oriente antico

Abstract

Nonostante che gli archivi e i testi del Vicino Oriente antico non siano molto ricchi di notizie sui bambini, sulla loro educazione, sui loro giochi, sulla loro vita quotidiana, e che soprattutto siano particolarmente silenti sul periodo dopo lo svezzamento fino alla pubertà, si possono in ogni caso enucleare parecchi aspetti della loro vita il cui studio si può ancora molto approfondire. La bibliografia sui bambini è in ogni caso abbastanza vasta e va ben al di là di quella che compare in queste mie poche note. Oltre ai temi esaminati in questo breve intervento, parecchi altri sono da esaminare: ad es. quelli riguardanti l’apprendistato che coinvolgeva bambini dopo lo svezzamento, i sovrani che si dicono figli di divinità che li hanno partoriti o allattati, le famiglie divine e il rapporto degli dèi con i loro divini figli e altri temi ancora. E questo sarà proprio lo scopo del gruppo di ricerca istituitosi sotto la guida di Elena Zocca e Anna Maria Gloria Capomacchia, organizzatrici anche della giornata di studio che ha dato origine a questo volume.
