The article deals with the administrative review of the decisions of the European Central Bank (ECB) within the Single Supervisory Mechanism. According to article 24 of the Council Regulation (EU) n. 1024/2013 an Administrative Board of Review is established for the purpose of carrying out an internal administrative review of the decisions taken by the ECB in the exercise of the powers conferred on it by the Regulation. If the request of review is deemed admissible, the Administrative Board of Review expresses a non binding opinion to the Supervisory Board of the ECB which is obliged to submit a new draft decision to the Governing Council of the ECB. The new draft decision may abrogate, replace or confirm the first draft decision. The operating rules adopted by the ESB confirm that the new internal remedy is very different from similar alternative dispute resolution remedies at EU level.
