Abstract

Gli studi raccolti in questo libro tendono ad ampliare il campo del “restauro del Moderno”, affrontando il tema del “progetto di ri-qualificazione” nella sua complessità. Attraverso i materiali e le tecniche, si sono indagate non soltanto le architetture del Razionalismo italiano bensì le opere già moderne tra metà dell’Ottocento e primo conflitto mondiale e quindi quelle del Regime e del secondo dopoguerra, fino agli anni sessanta. Senza limitarsi agli edifici, intendendo il “materiale vegetale” come costitutivo del sistema dello spazio aperto, determinante il valore paesaggistico e la qualità del rapporto tra architettura e contesto. Una “sezione” tracciata nella vicenda della costruzione e del suo ciclo vitale. In parallelo, l’analisi dei casi di restauro e riqualificazione, fondata sulla testimonianza dei progettisti, e la riflessione sulle diverse esperienze tratteggiano temi e modi della “ri-qualificazione”. Molteplici, alternativi o concorrenti se non conflittuali ma sempre specifici.
