Cities have a key role in overcoming the challenges related to climate changes: they are responsible for 67% of the global energy demand and, due to the rising population, they are highly vulnerable areas. According to European and international policies, it is fundamental to “act now” by engaging in mitigation and adaptation actions. For this reason, many cities are adopting climate adaptation or mitigation plans and participating in voluntary initiatives, such as the Covenant of Mayors.
