Osservazioni sul modello IFLA Library Reference Model

Abstract

Il saggio presenta il modello concettuale IFLA LRM (Library Reference Model) nelle sue caratteristiche principali e mettendone in evidenza gli aspetti di novità. In particolare, viene analizzato quali sono i principali cambiamenti nella definizione delle entità, degli attributi e delle relazioni definiti nei precedenti modelli della famiglia FRBR. Viene sottolineata l'importanza dell'introduzione inedita di una gerarchia tra le entità definite nel modello per la costruzione di dati più adatti al web semantico, la novità teorica espressa dall'attributo "asserzione di manifestazione" e il potenziale impatto sui dati prodotti dalle biblioteche e sul loro riuso nel web semantico.
