Ideologia linguistica nella lessicografia: le radici delle scelte dei vocabolari dell’uso

Abstract

La ricerca indaga le ideologie linguistiche della lessicografia contemporanea attraverso l’analisi delle recenti edizioni di due vocabolari dell’uso: il Devoto-Oli e lo Zingarelli. Neologismi, forestierismi e curiosità linguistiche sono le principali attrazioni dei nuovi dizionari che, negli ultimi anni, si sono evoluti apportando sostanziali modifiche ai contenuti delle parole. La presenza di rubriche di approfondimento e di note d’uso è una spia dell’ideologia linguistica degli autori, che non si limitano a descrivere le definizioni delle voci, ma esprimono, talvolta esplicitamente, giudizi critici riguardo al loro uso. Il contributo esamina alcune peculiarità dei due vocabolari, al fine di far emergere le diverse posizioni linguistiche e il profondo cambiamento che la società impone agli strumenti lessicografici.
