Induzione di apoptosi in cellule di rene embrionale bovino (BEK) infettate da Bovine Herpesvirus-4 (BoHV-4)

Abstract

In this work we reported the results of a study in which cell death caused by Bovine Herpesvirus-4 (BoHV-4) and Bovine Herpesvirus-1 (BoHV-1) in the Bovine Embrional Kidney (BEK) cell line was analyzed. Results showed that apoptosis was the principal cytophatic effect caused by BoHV-4 in BEK cells, when evaluated by fluorescence microscopy of cells stained with DNA-binding dyes and analisis of DNA fragmentation by agarose-gel electrophoresis. The same effect was not observed in the infection with BoHV-1
