[Aluminum toxicity and tolerance in wheat].

Abstract

The physiological and biochemical effects of different species of aluminum on the wheat Al-tolerant TAM202 and Al-sensitive TAM105 were investigated. The results showed that mononuclear Al could be absorbed by both of the two strains. Compared with TAM105, however, TAM202 absorbed less aluminum. The pH of the nutrient solution rose with the hydroponics of the two-cultivars. The content of proline in leaves of TAM105 increased obviously. The contents of protein, hexose and uronic acid in cell wall of TAM202 were higher than that in TAM105 under 75 mumol.L-1 Al. The results indicated that Al can activated the synthesis of some components relative to Al-tolerance in cell wall.
