Investigation of biblical quotations in the works of Maximus the Greek is a current issue within the study of his literary heritage. The paper focuses on the quotations from the Prophets occurring in his Slovo protivu tščaščichsja zvezdozreniem predricati o buduščich i o samovlastii čelovekom. For this text, the Trattato contra gli astrologi by Girolamo Savonarola served as a model. The analysis is aimed at identifying the sources from which quotations were taken.
