Abstract

Il Manuale di Nefrologia è rivolto principalmente agli studenti del Corso di Laurea in Medicina e Chirurgia, che affrontano il core curriculum in Nefrologia. Questa seconda edizione, pubblicata a cinque anni di distanza dalla prima, non è stata solo aggiornata per l’evoluzione delle conoscenze in questi anni, ma è stata anche arricchita di contenuti. Con un approccio clinico e fortemente basato sulla fisiopatologia gli Autori hanno integrato le conoscenze consolidate con le più recenti acquisizioni della ricerca. Il testo è rivolto anche agli Specializzandi e ai Medici di Medicina Generale che, a vario titolo e con scopi anche diversi, vogliano ampliare le loro conoscenze sulle malattie renali. Gli Autori hanno voluto trasmettere, soprattutto ai più giovani, l’entusiasmo per una disciplina che ha caratteristiche uniche nell’ambito medico e richiede l’integrazione di conoscenze e competenze in aree apparentemente tra loro diverse, da quelle tradizionali, come i disordini elettrolitici e dell’equilibrio acido-base, a quelle in fase di rapida evoluzione come l’immunopatologia renale, senza trascurare quelle imposte dall’attualità epidemiologica come le malattie cardiovascolari.
