The book aims to identify and point out issues related to design and nautical design. The work is divided in three thematic parts. The first is an introduction to the concept of craft, complete with a quick historical overview that presents the fundamentals of Mediterranean style as the starting point of modern yacht design. The second part shows the design of yachts facing all issues related to the boat, up to touch topics of ergonomics for disabled users. The third section discusses some ways related to project-management through the digital design. Finally, for more detailed information, the book means a first approach to the discipline of restoring and refitting, as well as some reflections on the effects of boat design in terms of environmental sustainability. The book is considered a disciplinary reference in the Italian boat design area; reprinted several times, it is appreciated by professionals, researchers and students of major courses of study oriented to yacht design.
