Dal calcio borghese al calcio sovietico

Abstract

L’articolo ricostruisce le vicende del calcio nella regione di Mosca dagli albori alla genesi del calcio sovietico. Il punto di vista è quello della storia sociale e della storia della cultura di massa. Il calcio si diffonde e si radica rapidamente nella vecchia capitale e nei suoi sobborghi industriali nel primo decennio del Novecento, seguendo tre direttrici distinte: 1) calcio borghese, in prevalenza organizzato e giocato da stranieri; 2) calcio studentesco; 3) calcio ‘selvaggio’, praticato da giovani operai nei cortili e negli spazi disabitati della periferia. La popolarità del fenomeno è testimoniata anche dal giro di scommesse che intorno a esso si crea, nonché dai problemi di ordine pubblico creati dalle partite. Proprio per tali fenomeni deteriori, oltre che per la sua intrinseca aggressività, alcune correnti ideologiche del potere sovietico reclamano la proibizione del calcio. Alla fine degli anni Venti lo Stato prende atto della insopprimibilità del calcio (e dello sport agonistico in genere) e vara un ampio progetto per la sua riorganizzazione in sintonia con gli obiettivi generali della società socialista.
