Pharmacia anticipates filing for congestive heart failure in 2002 [374505]. A global phase III survival trial was initiated in the US and approximately 30 other countries in January 2000. The trial will evaluate whether eplerenone can reduce the rate of mortality in patients who have recently had a heart attack that resulted in a diagnosis of heart failure 13535481.
