Abstract

El hecho de que el mapa lingüístico peninsular de época prerromana no constituya materia habitual de cultivo entre los hispanistas, sino más bien entre filólogos clásicos e historiadores del mundo antiguo, ha provocado que los avances experimentados en el conocimiento de los sustratos peninsulares no queden debidamente reflejados en el ámbito de los estudios dedicados a la historia del español. Las referencias a las lenguas y culturas prerromanas y su incidencia en la formación posterior de los diferentes espacios románicos peninsulares se caracteriza por la falta de actualización. A pesar de los avances registrados en el conocimiento de los diferentes estratos lingüísticos peninsulares prerromanos, no existe en la actualidad una atención a esta etapa prelatina por parte de romanistas e hispanistas en general y falta, por tanto, un estudio sistemático, en todos los niveles, de los efectos de los diferentes estratos sobre los romances hispánicos a la luz de las corrientes lingüísticas más actuales. El presente estudio pretende ofrecer un método adecuado al estudio de esta porción importante del vocabulario español y romance con él relacionado.
