Abstract

In apertura della sezione dedicata a El taller de còpia questo lavoro propone una riflessione sull’uso delle tecniche ecdotiche da parte degli editori di testi romanzi. Negli esempi riportati si sono esaminati sia casi di semplice ambiguità terminologica in sede di registrazione di varianti ed errori, sia casi più gravi nei quali all’individuazione del tipo di errore (paleografico, saut du même au même, ecc.) consegue l’applicazione della sua proprietà secondo la teoria stemmatica (monogenetico o poligenetico), il ché ha ovviamente conseguenze ecdotiche. Nell’insieme risulta che il recente ritorno ai manoscritti non ha sempre prodotto un cambiamento nella prassi editoriale. Da una parte la passione per i manoscritti (a volte anche maniacale) è spesso svincolata da quella editoriale e dall’altra gli editori di testi, specie in presenza di tradizioni ricche, si soffermano troppo poco sulla realtà manoscritta e continuano a lavorare in modo teorico e astratto su anonime sigle e varianti.
