Tracce sul territorio raffigurate nella cartografia storica.

Abstract

È stato condotto uno studio sulla rappresentazione della rete tratturale tra Abruzzo e Puglia, attraverso mappe sciolte di fine Cinquecento, gli atlanti del Sei-settecento, la cartografia ottocentesca e l’attuale visualizzazione di alcuni luoghi. Nel saggio si affronta brevemente la rappresentazione delle carte topografiche ad uso itinerario, dedicando attenzione ai diversi elementi raffigurati, ai modi della rappresentazione, e poi si analizzano alcune carte relative ai tratturi. Sulla scorta di pregressi studi e in relazione ai momenti significativi delle verifiche tratturali, sono stati osservati i segni grafici, le raffigurazioni degli edificati sparsi, dei paesi e della natura, e confrontati tra loro. Si è di fronte a un rapporto simbiotico tra percezione e raffigurazione, per comunicare uno stato, una condizione areale, che a volte risulta essere contrassegnata da avvertenze e da vere e proprie indicazioni.
