The only artist mentioned in the whole Shakespearean corpus id Giulio Romano. Much debate has been going on, since the 19th century, about the playwright's knowkege of the artist's works and his particular preference for the artist himself. In the article, after an overview of the existing bibliography, new sources are discussed for Shakespeare's inclusion of Giulio Romano in "The Winter's Tale".
