Recent Latin American constitutions provide, among various mechanisms of direct democracy and popular participation, the Revocatoria de mandato already known in other state realities. The article explores, in a comparative perspective, the historical origins, the individual disciplines and the practical applications of the institution in each country, highlighting the similarities and significant differences between the models adopted.
