Abstract

Uno sguardo sulle migrazioni, volto a comprendere il ruolo, spesso sottovalutato, dei genitori migranti nella promozione della riuscita scolastica, l’autostima e l’equilibrio sociale dei figli. IL libro esplora le scelte scolastiche e lavorative, l’approccio alla vita quotidiana, la visione della società e i sogni sul futuro di oltre cento genitori migranti e di insegnanti, mediatori culturali e membri di associazioni culturali. L’introduzione di Vanessa Maher propone riflessioni teoriche e comparative sul rapporto fra l’esperienza dei genitori migranti nella società ospite e il modo in cui svolgono il loro ruolo nei confronti dei figli. I saggi di Massimo Modesti, Maria Luisa Magagnotti e Sabaudin Varvarica riguardano temi specifici della ricerca: i rapporti dei genitori migranti con la scuola e il lavoro e le percezioni dell’identità.
