The paper , presented at the comic conference, in association with the university of Dundee , Scotland defines the multimodal aspects of the resouces involved in webcomics and graphic novels. The dialogic form of the comics makes use of conventions and of slang termsm and makes use of the given/new information value to create its narrative. The complexity of the new media is compared with the traditional paper format comic book.
