Abstract

“Filosofi sempre” è calco semplificato di uno dei tratti da Platone ascritti al suo Eros, “filosofo per la vita intera”. Esser “filosofi sempre” significa non tanto una professionalità o uno stato, ma una postura interiore: essa media la capacità di cercare – in dialogo continuo con gli altri – e formulare argomentazioni il più possibile solide alle opinioni che si nutrono (lògos) e d’intrecciarle poi a buone narrazioni (mýthos), che plasmino le proprie emozioni e motivino il successivo agire di quanto ci si arrischi a creder vero, e buono per sé come per gli altri. Dalla filosofia antica – dal testo platonico soprattutto – ci giungono ‘immagini’ potenti e significative dei perduranti pericoli del non esser “filosofi sempre”: si può allora volersi sottrarre allo sguardo degli altri,tentar di farsi invisibili (come l’antico Gige o il tolkieniano Gollum),nutrendo una sostanziale e distruttiva invidia (phthònos), che mira a togliere agli altri i loro beni e a non condividere con essi i propri. Questo modo – certo inattuale e non corrente – d’intendere la filosofia, base per un vero long life learning, pare aver tuttora valore a prevenire, forse essa sola, ogni forma di autoritaria tirannide.
