Abstract

Gli anni novanta e la fine della Prima Repubblica hanno segnato anche la fine della Democrazia cristiana e la dispersione dei cattolici in politica. Secondo i politologi, con la liquidazione del partito cattolico sarebbe venuto meno anche il “voto cattolico”. Tuttavia, dagli anni duemila, la politicizzazione delle questioni legate al genere, alla sessualità e alla famiglia ha prodotto una ricomposizione dell’attivismo cattolico, anche attraverso grandi manifestazioni come i Family Day. I temi e i discorsi pro-life, pro-family e anti-gender sono diventati gli strumenti di mobilitazione e di lotta di movimenti, gruppi e associazioni che promuovono nuove forme di partecipazione politica dei cattolici. Sviluppando l’ipotesi di una politica “neocattolica”, il volume ripercorre la traiettoria di questi nuovi movimenti religiosi che hanno fatto della lotta contro la “teoria del gender”, le unioni civili, la gestazione per altri, l’aborto e l’eutanasia l’occasione di una ricomposizione del campo di mobilitazione e di azione politica cattolica in Italia.
