Abstract

This chapter aims to publicize the constructions Conceptuals on which we are basing research funded by the National R&D Plan, in its early stages. We propose that to study subjective insecurity, it is necessary to relate both the individual and the social level to a series of characteristics that include not only data on crime, but which also considers the data on which we have named Social risk factors and on the citizens' own feeling of insecurity. Such a feeling of insecurity and as we propose it, it includes, in addition to the much studied "Fear of crime", contents related to vital uncertainties. Additionally, we will present the methodology we are following to collect the necessary information and problems those facing investigation.
