Educar para amar. Un amor sano, fuerte y verdaderamente libre

Abstract

Human beings are sexual beings and sexed, and that marks our way of being and being in the world. We assume our sexual heritage and, with it, we build a life project. Sexuality is given to us and we also make it our own, with our name and surnames, with our personal biological and biographical stamp. In our society of the 21st century, sexuality has acquired a public prominence never before released, and with this, our children, adolescents and young people are forced to discover, integrate and build their sexuality with too many stimuli, many of them with contradictory messages and not always directed to seek their good. Today, in a society in which only the young, the beautiful, the healthy, the easy, the immediate, that which produces pleasure ... seem to have value, it is even more difficult if it is possible to teach the value of commitment, patient devotion, effort, suffering. True love, the one that makes us fully human, means all that. This book aims to be a road companion for educators - parents, catechists, teachers and professors - Christians who, from their own experience of having found in the Christian ethical proposal something of light for their own walk, wish to accompany the children in this task to learn to love. It was never easy to educate for Christian love, for a love that involves sacrifice and suffering, fidelity, generosity and dedication to the extreme.
