Abstract

La situación de los niños migrantes no acompañados es familiar para muchos de nosotros. Este proyecto recoge datos de la presencia de inmigrantes menores en España, 2010-2015. Se basa en entrevistas cualitativas en profundidad con jóvenes residentes indocumentados en centros juveniles en España. El objetivo es explorar las estrategias de entrada utilizadas por los jóvenes en relación con el sistema de inmigración español y su estado vulnerable. Después de un breve resumen del estado de derecho español, este trabajo habla de cómo y por qué los jóvenes migrantes arriesgan sus vidas para llegar a las costas españolas. En segundo lugar, destaca las diferencias, fortalezas y debilidades del sistema de recepción español, de conformidad con las leyes locales, nacionales e internacionales. Explora el papel de la educación en las estrategias para niños, incluido su futuro. El análisis de los costos y la eficiencia del sistema español de asilo, la medida en que impide la desaparición en la ilegalidad o se desvanecen en la marginación. Finalmente, la dificultad de obtener la plena ciudadanía cuando ya no son menores de edad y ni siquiera son migrantes. ¿Qué significa ser parte de una sociedad nacional, pero tener menos derechos que otros?

The plight of unaccompanied migrant children is familiar to many of us. This project collects data of the presence of minor immigrants in Spain, 2010-2015. It is based on in-depth qualitative interviews with young undocumented resident in juvenile centres in Spain. The aim of it is to explore the entry strategies used by young people in relation to Spanish immigrant system and their vulnerable status. After a brief summary of Spanish´s rule of law, this work talks about how and why young migrants alone risk their lives to reach the Spanish coasts. Second, it highlights the differences, strengths and weaknesses of the Spanish reception system, in compliance with local laws, national and international. It explores the role of education in children strategies, including their future. The analysis of costs and efficiency of the Spanish asylum system, the extent to which it prevents the disappearance into illegality or fade into marginalization. Finally, the difficulty of gaining full citizenship when they are no longer minors and not even migrants. What does it mean to be part of a national society, but to have fewer rights than others?
