Abstract

This chapter analyzes the parallelism that can be found between the national culture and the business culture through a review of the literature on the subject. It is based on the observation that internationalization has led companies to gradually become multicultural institutions, which implies a challenge in the management of multicultural staff. Taking into account this challenge, many companies choose to launch their own organizational culture to provide a 'common language' that allows cohesion in the organization. However, to that company's own culture is added the cultural context in which the company operates. This leads us to reflect on the relationship between the national culture and the organizational culture and how the former can influence the latter.
