Centro de Atención a las Familias Padre Piquer

Abstract

During the last year, a Center of Attention to the Family managed by the University Institute of the Family of the Pontifical University Comillas of Madrid has been functioning in the school of Madrid "Center of Formation Father Piquer". The aim of the center is to respond to the most urgent problems, both personal and family detected by teachers and tutors of students through interaction with them in classrooms. In addition, the center serves as a practice center for the students of the Master in Counseling and Family Mediation. The most important characteristic of the work carried out is the coordination between the school and the care center for families. The most striking result is having achieved the involvement of the parents of the children, which allows a familiar approach to the problems. The high degree of satisfaction that has generated both in the families served and among the teachers of the school, the team members and students of the Master make us very optimistic for the future. The present article reveals the reasons that have given rise to the implementation of a device like this and some keys to understand its present operation and its projection of future.
