In this article, the author presents and analyzes legal novelties introduced by the Mitis Iudex Dominus Iesus, underscoring their object and pondering, from a critical perspective, the advantages and disadvantages of this reform. The article focus on those novelties that may cause problems of interpretation, like the structure of document and its normative value, the way chosen for its promulgation, and the interpretation of some new canons, like the new regulation of the appeal and other recourses against the judgment, or the briefer process before the Bishop.

En su estudio, la autora presenta y analiza las novedades legales introducidas por el Mitis Iudex Dominus Iesus en el proceso canónico ordinario para la declaración de la nulidad del matrimonio, señalando el fundamento de las mismas y valorando, desde una perspectiva crítica, las ventajas e inconvenientes de dicha reforma. El artículo presta especial atención a los puntos novedosos de la nueva normativa procesal.
