Abstract

KULLANILMIŞ NÜKLEER YAKIT DEPOLANMASI TÖRE, Candan Mühendislik Fakültesi Nükleer Mühendislik Programı, Yüksek Lisans Tezi Tez Yöneticisi: Prof.Dr. Orhan YEŞÎN 76 sayfa, Eylül 1989 ÖZET Sunulan bu çalışmada CAREM güç reaktörünün kullanılmış yakıtla rının su havuzunda depolanması sırasında kritik kütle oluşması tehlikesi, radyasyona karşı koruyucu zırh kalınlığı ve yakıt çubuk larının zarf malzemesinde ısı oluşumu problemleri çözülmeye çalışıl mıştır. Kullanılmış yakıtların reaktör binasında yapılan su ile doldurulmuş havuzda ıslak depolama teknolojisi ile depolandığı kabul edildi. Çalışma sonucunda; kritik kütle oluşmasını önlemek için bir yakıt topluluğunun kritik yarıçapının 25.0 cm olduğu iki grup metodu uygulanarak bulundu. Havuzun yakınındaki personeli gama radyasyonun dan koruyabilmek için, havuz içinde bulunan yakıt çubuklarının her yönden en az 9.65 m kalınlıkta su kütlesi ile zırhlanmasının gerek tiği görüldü. Ayrıca, yakıt çubuklarının zarf malzemesinin (Zry-4) gama radyasyonunu soğurması ile meydana gelen ısı gözönünde bulundurulduğunda malzemenin maksimum sıcaklık derecesi yaklaşık 800 °C bulundu. Thesis Supervisor: Prof.Dr. Orhan YESİN 76 pages, September 1989 ABSTRACT In this study, the criticality, shielding and heat generation problems associated with the spent fuel storage of CAREM power reactor are attempted to be solved. It is accepted that spent fuel assemblies are stored in a pool of water at the reactor building by using wet storage technology. The critical radius of a spent fuel assembly required to prevent the critical mass formation in the pool is estimated as 25.0 cm by using two-group method. In order to protect the personnel in the vicinity of the pool against gamma radiation, the necessary minimum thickness of water bulk in the pool is estimated as 9.65 m from the fuel rods in all directions. Furthermore, the TOnri.mnm cladding (Zry-4) temperature is estimated about 800 C by considering the heat generation as the result of gamma radiation absorption in the cladding material.
