Target localization in MIMO CW radar

Abstract

Detecting the presence of drones and determining their location has become critically important in preventing unauthorized or malicious use in many areas today. In this study, drones are localized using only Doppler shift data obtained from Continuous Wave (CW) radars within a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) radar framework. The MIMO system has been used in various configurations involving monostatic, bistatic and multistatic cases. The accuracy of the estimated parameters is compared under noisy conditions, with radars positioned at different locations and configurations. Additionally, a method is proposed for the detection and localization of multiple targets in scenarios involving multiple drones.
