Thiis papeı4 reports on an early version of a macroeconometric model of the Turkish economy which was designed primarily for short - term forecasting and policy simulations. The focus of the model is on the relationship between inflationary dynamics, trade and production. It was estimated from annual observations över the period 1964 - 81 and used for prediction and policy analyses both in - sample and post - sample periods.
