ABSTRACT: In this study, Alawism that made many definitions and interpretations throughout history was examined; as the starting point, the first years of İslam were discussed. Events that occurred as a result of this process which has reached to the present day as a result of the different reactions in the historical process and the reactions to the events, have been handled by adhering to the principle of academic neutrality. In this study, the main subjects of the study as the place of Alawites where they came from, how they settled in, their demographic structures, their beliefs and worship, their interactions with different cultures and their beliefs' effects on their social lives were examined. This study includes the process of presenting the right and wrong knowledge about Alawites living in the region to the academy by basing on the sources of classical and modern ages.Key words: Alawite, Alawism, Bektashism, Shia, Bingöl

ÖZET: Tarih boyunca birçok tanımı ve yorumu yapılan Alevîliği ele alan bu çalışmada; çıkış noktası olarak İslamın ilk yılları ele alınmıştır. Tarihi süreç içinde farklı tepkimeler sonucunda günümüze kadar ulaşan süreç neticesinde oluşan olaylar ve olaylara verilen tepkiler akademik tarafsızlık ilkesine bağlı kalınarak ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın ana konusu olan bölge Alevîlerinin nereden geldikleri, nasıl yerleştikleri, demografik yapıları, inanç ve ibadetleri, farklı kültürlerle etkileşimleri ve inançlarının sosyal yaşamlarına etkileri ele alınmıştır. Çalışma; Kârer bölgesi merkeze alınarak bölge Alevîleri hakkında bilinen doğru ve yanlışların alana inilerek, klasik ve yakın çağ kaynaklarına dayandırılarak bilim dünyasına sunulması sürecini içermektedir.
