Sillyon antik kenti’nde ve çevresi’nde yüzey araştırması projesi

Abstract

Sillyon Antik Kenti Yüzey Araştırması 2009 yılından itibaren Bakanlar Kurulu Kararıyla kentte çeşitli araştırmalar yapmak amacıyla Pamukkale Üniversitesi Arkeoloji Bölümü öğretim üyesi Doç. Dr. Elif Özer başkanlığındaki bilim heyetine verilmiştir. “Sillyon Antik Kenti’nde ve Çevresi’nde Yüzey Araştırması Projesi” isimli projemiz uzun yıllar sürecek bir çalışmanın 2 yıl içinde gerçekleşmesi düşünülen bir çalışma alanıydı. Arazi çalışmalarının planlanan zamandan uzun sürmesi, katılımcıların konunun uzmanları ile yaptığı çalışmalarının sağlıklı yürümesi ve Pamukkale Üniversitesi Arkeoloji Bölümü’nün destekleri sayesinde projenin yaklaşık 1 yıl erkenden sonuca ulaşmasında etkenler olmuştur. 2009 yılındaki arazi çalışmaları Sillyon Nekropol alanı üzerinde yoğunlaşmasına rağmen kentin çevresi ve çeşitli yerlerinde çalışmalar yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmalarda kültür öğeleri kayıt altına alınarak çizimleri yapılıp bilgisayar ortamına aktarılmıştır. Yine bir önceki çalışma döneminde toplanan seramiklerin bir kısmı envanterlenip çizimleri tamamlanmıştır.

The Ancient City Sillyon Survey has been given to the expert group under the leadership of Ass.Prof.Dr. Elif Özer from Archaeology Department in Pamukkale University in order to make various studies in the city by the decision of Cabinet since 2009. Our project named “Survey Project in the ancient city Sillyon and its surroundings” was a field of study thought to come true within 2 years which would last for long years. That the territory studies took much more times than planned, the studies the participants made with the experts were in good conditions and the supports of Archaeology Department of Pamukkale University became the factors which led the project to finish one year earlier. Although the territory studies in 2009 focused on Sillyon Nekropol area, studies around the city and various places were done. In these studies, cultural items were recorded and transferred to the computer media. Again, some of the ceramics gathered in the previous study period were listed and their drawings were completed.
