Abstract

Emotional labor, which is considered to be very closely related to emotional intelligence, is the work of people to be able to manage their own emotions in order to fulfill their emotional role in working life. In the study, the Emotional Intelligence scale adapted to Turkish by Atilla (2012) and the Emotional Labor Scale adapted to Turkish by Basım and Begenirbaş (2012) were used. As a result of the study, low level of significant relationship was determined between the emotion regulation subdimension of the emotional intelligence scale and the natural emotions sub-dimension. Low level of significant relationship was found between the sub-dimension of evaluating the feelings of others and the sub-dimensions of deeply acting and natural feelings. Low level of significant relationship was found between the use of emotions sub-dimension and the natural feelings sub-dimension. It has been determined that the emotional intelligence scale's emotion regulation sub-dimension differs significantly according to age, educational status and profession. It has been determined that the emotional intelligence scale's emotional intelligence sub-dimension differs according to educational status and profession. It has been found that the evaluation sub-dimension of the emotional intelligence scale of others' emotions differs according to age. It has been determined that the deeply role-playing sub-dimension of the emotional labor scale differs significantly according to gender, marital status, educational status, monthly income level and profession. It has been found that the natural feelings subdimension of the emotional labor scale differs according to gender. A significant relationship was found between emotional intelligence and emotional labor.
