Abstract

Dede Korkut Hikâyeleri'yle Türk kültür hayatında önemli bir yer işgal etmiş olan Korkut Ata'nın kimliği konusu maalesef günümüze kadar çok açık biçimde ortaya konmuş değildir. Hayatı hakkında bazı tarihi eserlerde bilgi sahibi olduğumuz Korkut Ata'nın adının kökeni etrafındaki tartışmalar da bitmiş değildir. Bu çalışma çerçevesinde eser, kişi, tarih, dil, gelenek ekseninde Korkut adına köken bilgisi bakımından bir açıklama getirilmeye çalışılmıştır.
