Hannah Arendt’s critical totalitarism

Hannah Arendt’in totalitarizm eleştirisi

Abstract

In this study, emergence of totalitarianism was explained from Hannah Arendt’s point of view. Thus, by reversing one of the oldest questions in political history that addresses how people live together in the most ideal situation, it is aimed to explain how people can no longer live together. Therefore, instead of a clear description of the most ideal political order, it is explained what should be in consideration in order to reach the ideal life and live in the most ideal situation possible. In this context, the most important factor is the ability of people to think critically. It has been argued that in order for people to think critically, they must be able to think on their own. In order for them to think on their own, they need leisure time. In order for their thoughts to be transformed into valid opinions, people must have right to receive accurate information and they must participate in decision-making processes in the public sphere.

Bu çalışmada Hannah Arendt’in görüşlerinden hareketle totalitarizmin ortaya çıkış süreci açıklanmıştır.
