In this study, mentality and economic mentality issues were discussed in line with Sabri Fehmi Ülgener's thoughts. Ülgener is a name that occupies an important place in the Turkish social sciences tradition and keeps the works by blending the relationship between mentality and economics. It is possible to see the effects of Max Weber's method in Ülgener's works, which are known as Turkish Weberi in terms of the works he has put forth and the method he uses. Ülgener had a close affinity with German sociology under the influence of this method. The formation of the capitalist mind in the West and its inability to obtain sufficient space in our society form the basis of Ülgener's work. As a matter of fact, this problem is one of the main issues that Ülgener and Weber are working on. In this context, these two ideas are the basis of our study of the interaction of religion and mentality that they have developed in response to this prob- lem. Weber, on the other hand, tried to emphasize the triggering effect of Kalvinism on rational production and capitalist mentality in his works, whereas Ülberer puts the adverse effects of Sufism on the economic structure in the foreground. In this respect, we have sought to emphasize the mystic structure within the Islamic religion as the greatest obstacle to the inability to form a rational production mode and to overcome capitalist manipulation over our Ülgener society. In this respect Ülgener places mentality on the basis of his work on the economic structure. For this reason, in this study, the determinations of mentality in the direction of Ülgener's thoughts have been taken into account, taking into account the historical dynamics related to economics-mentality.

Bu çalışmada Sabri Fehmi Ülgener'in düşünceleri doğrultusunda zihniyet ve iktisadi zihniyet konuları ele alınmıştır. Ülgener, çalışmalarında zihniyet ve iktisat arasındaki ilişkiyi harmanlayarak eserler kaleme alan ve bu yönüyle Türk sosyal bilimler geleneğinde önemli bir yere sahip olan bir isimdir. Ortaya koyduğu eserler ile kullandığı yöntem bakımından Türk Weberi olarak anılan Ülgener'in çalışmalarında Max Weber'in yönteminin etkilerini görebilmek mümkündür. Ülgener bu yöntemin etkisiyle Alman sosyolojisine ayrı bir yakınlık göstermiştir. Batı'daki kapitalist zihniyetin oluşumu ve bunun toplumumuzda yeterinde yer edinememesi Ülgener'in çalışmalarının temelini oluşturmaktadır. Asıl itibariyle bu problem Ülgener ve Weber'in üzerinde çalıştığı temel konuların başında yer almaktadır. Bu bağlamda bu iki düşünürün bu probleme cevap olarak geliştirdikleri din ve zihniyet konusunun etkileşimi çalışmamızın temeli niteliğindedir. Ülgener çalışmalarında tasavvufun iktisadi yapı üzerindeki olumsuz etkilerini ön plana çıkarırken, Weber ise çalışmalarında Kalvinizm'in rasyonel üretim ve kapitalist zihniyet üzerindeki tetikleyici etkisine vurgu yapmaya çalışmıştır. Bu bakımdan Ülgener toplumumuz üzerinden, rasyonel üretim tarzının oluşamamasının ve kapitalist düzene geçilememesinin önündeki en büyük engel olarak İslam dini bünyesindeki tasavvufi yapıya vurgu yapmaya çalışmıştır. Bu bakımdan Ülgener iktisadi yapıya dair çalışmalarının temeline zihniyeti yerleştirmektedir. Bundan dolayı bu çalışmamızda iktisat-zihniyet ilişkisi tarihsel dinamikler göz önünde bulundurularak, Ülgener'in düşünceleri doğrultusunda zihniyete dair tespitleri ele alınmıştır.
