Yemen krizi bağlamında Suudi Arabistan-İran rekabeti

Abstract

This thesis aims to examine the reasons for the conflict in the relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran and the power struggle in Yemen as a result. It is revealed what it costs both states to politicize the sect and make it a tool in order to benefit from many items, in the region and in Yemen. Of course, all these have been analyzed in terms of instrumentalism and constructivism approaches. While the events following the 1979 Iranian Revolution, the 2003 Invasion of Iraq and the 2011 Arab Spring are expressed as the escalation stages of the aforementioned political sectarianism, the relentless power struggle between Saudi Arabia and Iran and how it was staged in the lands of Yemen and other collapsed states will be explained. Again, this study aims to analyze the Hûsî movement, which was put forward by the perpetrators of the Hûsî revolt in Yemen in 2004, in the historical, political and religious framework, this is the name of the Arab Spring, targeting all the states in the Middle East and bringing nothing but blood and tears to this geography. From the political change demands initiated in Yemen against Ali Abdullah Saleh, who has ruled the country with an iron fist since the said chaos, to the removal of Ali Abdullah Saleh from power, from the National Dialogue Conference, which was made up of all segments of the society, to the international operation led by Saudi Arabia by sectarianizing the issue. aims to analyze the situation in Yemen. For the soundness of this analysis, the important roles of Iran, which has never spared its support to the Houthis of Shiite origin, and Saudi Arabia, which supports the government and belief groups close to itself, are mentioned in detail, by attaching importance to the important roles in this process. Therefore, the Yemen issue needs an up-to-date analysis from a different perspective.
