In this study Arendt's conceptof violence, power, authority, totalitarism were tried to be understood by reading her artefacts. Hannah Arendt, who lived in a time that technology reached to very high level, and witnessed two World Wars, tried to understand modernizm and the conditions that created modern human being in the light of what she had been through. How the violence arose out of devastating and transofrmative events, demolished public area was tried to be shown and the link between modernizm, violonce, power and totalitarism to be found out. Later on those concepts are sought in two different newspapers under topic of Gezi Events that occured on June 2013 in Istanbul and spread over to the whole country by using content analysis method and the articles were evaluatued according to Arendt's approach. It was tried to be proven that; as a result of the analysis like Arendt has foreseen; the realationship between power and violonce, violence's arising in the absence of power, there is no power that is strong enought to stand against the instruments of state power, how the public area is established, and how various people- especially women- are represented, and traces of totalirism from the begining of the events
